A group of 14 foreign amateur photographers recently visited Changshan county in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, on the fifth stop of the 2017 "Zhejiang Through Foreign Eyes" short video competition.

The first place they went to on the June 3 and 4 visit was a private comic strip museum where more than 30,000 comic books told them stories of Changshan at different times in its history.

Painting and calligraphy in Dongxiang village impressed the photographers, especially because of the close contact they had with the villagers.

The village is renowned for its calligraphy culture. The local people have portrayed nearby mountains and rivers in artworks for many years. The foreigners saw descriptions of nature in words when they watched villagers write with brush pens.

On the evening of the first day, a performance of folk music proved to be a highlight of the trip. Local performers sang cheerful songs with Changshan characteristics, earning acclaim and applause from the international audience.

A visit to Furongxia scenic area concluded the trip. Gorges and a lake ensure the area has pure air and water. The visitors enjoyed the fresh air before returning to the city's hustle and bustle.

After the trip, the photographers were expected to make short videos to  share on international social media.
