Get a sense of B&B in Tonglu
A two-hour drive from Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, Tonglu county has gained online popularity for its booming B&B industry.
As a part of the Second China International B&B Development Forum, a group of experts from home and abroad visited local B&B businesses on Oct 16, to get a sense of the beauty and charm of this ancient county.
In a She ethnic village, we received a warm welcome from local residents and businesses owners.
Women in their ethnic costumes danced along the road.
They also prepared various local food to express their hospitality.
In many B&Bs, we could see effective combination of local folk culture with modern characteristics, creating buildings that cater both to local residents and visitors from big cities.
In recent years, the local government has made great efforts to promote the development of B&B industry, including financial support, professional training, green channels and promotional conferences.
The county now boasts more than 500 B&B businesses with over 10,000 beds, attracting more than three million tourists last year.
