Investment platforms
XETZ comprises one headquarter base and two innovative parks.
Hangzhou Bay Headquarters Base:
Located to the west of Shibei New City and with a planning area of 2.7 square kilometers, it is designed to be a place for a headquarters economy park, high-tech industrial park, modern tertiary district and high-end residential district.
Hangzhou Innovation Park:
Situated in Hanghzou, with a construction area of 200,000 square meters, focusing on new-generation IT industry, software industry, high-end service outsourcing, incubation of technology companies, service industry of production nature and smart health industry.
Xiaoshan High-tech Industrial Park:
It is a provincial high-tech park founded in September, 1999 with a planning area of 3.6 square kilometers. An entrepreneurship center lies in the park for the incubation of companies involved in electronic information, software development, fine chemistry, and bio-pharmaceuticals.
Economy
XETZ's GDP in 2013 was 25.48 billion yuan ($3.82 billion) with a total fiscal revenue of 5.41 billion yuan, local fiscal revenue of 2.58 billion yuan. Its gross industrial output was 84.72 billion yuan in 2013.
Currently, there are 602 foreign investment projects from 30 countries and regions ratified in XETZ with a total investment of $10.17 billion, contracting $6 billion foreign investment and actually utilized foreign capital of $3.53 billion. Meanwhile, 393 domestic investment projects have been approved with a total investment of some 100 billion yuan.
Many Global Fortune 500 and China Fortune 500 companies have settled in XETZ, including GE, Fiat, Yamaha, ABB, ZF, Sinotruck, Guangzhou Auto Group and Wahaha.
An industrial structure with five pillars of industry -- electronic communication, precision machinery, medical food, textile and garment, building materials and chemical engineering has been developed in XETZ.
