Fuchunshan Museum opens to public
The Fuchunshan Museum in Fuyang district, Hangzhou opened to the public on Dec 23.
The museum is a combination of gallery, museum and archive. It's also the first architecture project designed by Wang Shu, Architecture Department Chair at China Academy of Art, after winning the Pritzker Prize.
The museum is constructed in accordance to the natural environment in the county. "The design of the museum is not just about the art, but also about how to pass on traditional culture," said Wang, "harmony between nature and the modern architecture in the city, is what really matters".
The museum is open to the public, free of charge, all year round.
