IHG appoints new head for Zhejiang
Frankson Lee, a veteran hotel management professional, has been appointed IHG's general manager in Zhejiang. While taking on responsibility for the hotel group's operations in Zhejiang, he will retain his role as the general manager of the InterContinental Hangzhou.
Starting his career in the industry 23 years ago as a trainee in Le Meridien Singapore, Lee went on to work with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, participating in the opening of its two flagship hotels in Chengdu and Tokyo. In 2009, he joined Mandarin Oriental Sanya, the group's first property in China as hotel manager. He joined InterContinental Hotels Group in 2010, as resident manager of the iconic InterContinental Hong Kong, after which he gained his position as general manager of the InterContinental Hangzhou in 2014.
Lee has led his team in successfully hosting more than 800 global elites at the much acclaimed B20 summit as well as other International meetings and events, enhancing the hotel's capability to hold the International MICE and contributing to its future development.
In recognition of his contributions, the People's Government of Zhejiang and People's Municipal Government of Hangzhou offered Lee the "West Lake Friendship" and "Qianjiang Friendship" awards in 2016 and 2015 respectively, the highest recognitions given to expatriates who assist in the development of Zhejiang and Hangzhou.
