Zhejiang University of Technology is a key comprehensive university in Zhejiang province, co-established by the Zhejiang Provincial Government and the Chinese Ministry of Education. It offers programs in a variety of subjects, including engineering, science, liberal arts, law, economics, pharmaceuticals, management and education.

ZJUT is located in Hangzhou, a well-known historic and cultural city as well as a world-famous place of interest. It consists of three campuses — Chaohui, Pingfeng and Zhijiang — and covers 213 hectares. There are over 3,200 staffs in this environmentally elegant university which is an ideal place for study and work. It has 22 colleges and two departments. Besides, it is authorized to recruit international students as well as students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. The value of ZJUT's fixed assets totals about 2.8 billion yuan. The library covers more than 60,000 square meters and contains over 7,210,000 books, 17,000 of which are Chinese and foreign periodicals.

Having established interscholastic cooperative relationships with about 60 colleges and universities in the US, England, France, Germany, Japan, Belgium, Australia, Russia, Korea, the Netherlands, Sweden and Austria, and about 10 colleges and universities from Hong Kong and Macao, ZJUT is becoming more and more active in external exchanges, and is making great progress in aspects such as students of dual cultures, academic exchanges between teachers and scientific researchers, running schools with foreign countries, introduction of overseas intelligence, educating overseas students and teaching Chinese as a foreign language. So far, ZJUT has been entitled to recruit overseas students with scholarships from the Chinese and Zhejiang governments and the CIS. The students have come from about 75 countries and regions to study Chinese language and culture, undergraduate courses and master's courses.
