Wenzhou city in Zhejiang province launched the 2018 Wenzhou International Fashion Cultural and Creative Industries Expo on March 22.

Under the theme "Creativity Lights up Life", the five-day expo is expected to demonstrate the latest creative products and development trends in the cultural industry.

The expo includes a main exhibition featuring "culture plus" and "fashion plus", two parallel sessions, three important forums and several supporting activities. 

At the opening ceremony, Mayor Yao Gaoyuan introduced Wenzhou, rich in historic and cultural resources is a vibrant and fashionable city with creative spirits. In recent years, Wenzhou has seen rapid development in the cultural sector which has become a new highlight of its economic and social development.

A 12-minute performance about craftsmen was displayed at the opening ceremony, revealing Wenzhou people's efforts in conducting reforms and the quest to develop as explained by Li Tao, director of the show.

"We old people have come to learn about how the young people combine tradition and creativity and how they inherit and promote our traditional culture," said Peng Zhenfeng, a visitor to the expo. He said he was marveled at the creative spirits of young Wenzhou people.

Mayor Yao said that the city will attach more importance on the cultivation and development of cultural creative industry, in an effort to rejuvenate traditional culture and help people to live a better life.
