Jiashan to build cluster of foreign businesses in development zone
Jiashan county in Zhejiang province has generated an agglomeration effect in foreign investment by introducing multinational companies and international projects to its economic and technological development zone.
In 2017, the contractual foreign investment into Jiashan Economic and Technological Development Zone grew over 40 percent year-on-year. A batch of Fortune Global 500 and international projects with large investment were stationed in the zone last year, making it a quality cluster of foreign-invested businesses.
The Sino-Dutch (Jiashan) Industrial Cooperation Park (SDICP), located in the development zone, is an important platform for the county to attract talents, capital and businesses from abroad, especially from the Netherlands.
So far, five Sino-Dutch projects related to medical care, machinery and electronics have settled in the park, and a total of 13 cooperation agreements had been signed by the end of last year. The first construction phase of Heineken, a Dutch brewing company listed in the Fortune Global 500, has been finished in the SDICP and the second is underway.
To provide better services for foreign companies, the development zone is committed to improving the business environment by cutting down on excessive red tape and bettering its working operations.
Moreover, Jiashan is actively seeking cooperation opportunities on quality projects through a variety of channels. For example, the SDICP has set up overseas offices to attract businesses and investment. In the future, the county plans to establish a service system for overseas industries, and build startup incubators in collaboration with universities in the Netherlands to promote cooperation between China and the European country.
