China, Germany seek high-tech development partnership
The Sino-German High-Tech Dialogue Forum was held in the Xiaoshan district of Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province, on May 20.
Organized by Xiaoshan district and Heidelberg municipal government, the forum was aimed at promoting bilateral cooperation between China and Germany in the areas of high-tech, talent development and education.
Twelve distinguished guests, including former German chancellor Gerhard Schröder, former chairman of German software maker SAP, Henning Kagermann, and Sompo Chou, president of the Sino-German Business Federation, gathered to share their insights into the development of intelligent manufacturing.
Many guests voiced their belief that the cooperation between the two regions promises a bright future, especially in the intelligent manufacturing, artificial intelligence and big data industries.
Xiangshan Xianghu National Tourism Resort and Sino-German Hi-Tech Park Holding GmbH, a business incubator and accelerator, signed a cooperative agreement that featured the establishment of a Sino-German industrial park.
The park, which will be implemented over three phases, is expected to serve as a platform to introduce Germany's advanced industrial technology and scientific achievements, and further bilateral cooperation in future intelligence, life science and green environment.
Economic and cooperative business ties between Xiaoshan and Germany have strengthened significantly in recent years. Several German-funded enterprises, including ZF Friedrichshafen AG, Deutsche Lufthansa AG and Volkswagen, have set up branches in Xiaoshan district.
