The leaders of the global geographic information industry will descend on Deqing county, East China's Zhejiang province with the arrival of the United Nations World Geospatial Information Congress (UNWGIC), which is to be held from November 19 to 21, 2018.

The UNWGIC, hailed as the highest-level international surveying and mapping event to have been held in China, is set to bring many new opportunities for Deqing county to develop its geographic information innovation and digital economy.

As yet another significant international event in Zhejiang in recent years, after the G20 Hangzhou Summit and the World Internet Conference, the congress will take place at a newly built convention center in Zhejiang Geospatial Information Industrial Park.

A group of geospatial professionals from governments, non-governmental organizations, academic and research institutions and the private sector will be invited to advance cross party communication, mutual understanding, and the knowledge and application of geospatial information management to address global challenges.

Zhejiang Geospatial Information Industrial Park in Deqing, with an area of 3.68 square kilometers, is the first national-level industrial park concentrating on the innovation of geographic information.

Serving to propel the development of high-tech industries, it is committed to building itself into a demonstration base of the geographic information industry in China.

A total of 150 companies related to geographic information have been stationed in the park since its establishment.
