Art week to boost film and tourism industries in Taizhou

The First Asian Art week on Tourism and Film is to be held in Taizhou, a coastal city in Zhejiang province in July, which local officials hope will help give a welcome lift to the local film and tourism industries.

Ahead of the event, officials held its first preparatory meeting on May 23.

The meeting emphasized that this international event, which aims to promote the tourism and cultural exchanges across Asian countries, is of great significance in showcasing Taizhou's latest achievements in the film and tourism industries and improving the city's global influence.

The art week, co-organized by the China TV Artists Association, the Zhejiang administration of press, publication, radio, film and television and the Taizhou government, will display hundreds of film and television works from countries such as Russia, Japan, South Korea and Malaysia.

Meanwhile, an assortment of forums, symposiums and exhibitions activities will also be held during the event.

With rich cultural and tourism resources, Taizhou is one of the hottest filming spots in China. Over 200 film and television works have been produced in the city in recent years.
