Professionals from the global accounting industry descended upon Keqiao district of Shaoxing, the birthplace of Chinese accounting culture in East China's Zhejiang province, for the first World Accounting Forum and the 13th China CFO Conference, which took place from May 25 to 26.

Themed around "leading global finance and upgrading by new intelligence", the forum focused on a wide range of issues, including the latest trends of the accounting sector as well as the responsibilities of the industry in the modern era.

A group of accounting professionals from government sectors, international accounting firms and organizations and companies in the Global Fortune 500 were invited to discuss and exchange their insights into the impact of intelligent manufacturing on the accounting industry.

"At present, the global accounting industry is facing great challenges brought by the scientific and technological revolution," said Xu Hongcai from China's Ministry of Finance, stressing that accountants around the world should join hands to effectively promote the transformation and upgrading of the industry by virtue of new technologies and achievements.

According to Ma Weiguang, Party secretary of Shaoxing, the city, with a prosperous private economy, is striving to build a modern industrial system, especially the modern service sector with the accounting industry at the forefront of these developments.

Four parallel forums on the topics of global smart finance, the development of management accounting, certified public accountants, and the development of accounting theory and education, were held during the event.
