The 9th China (Yongkang) International Door Industry Expo came to an end in Yongkang, a manufacturing hub for doors in East China's Zhejiang province, on May 28.

A total of 927 exhibitors from China and other countries and regions around the world, such as the United States, Italy and South Korea, attended the event over a three-day period, a year-on-year increase of 7.8 percent.

Moreover, the participation rate of non-local businesses saw a robust growth, accounting for over 60 percent of the total companies this year.

With an emphasis on "smart, intelligent and high quality" products, this year's expo created an international platform where companies from home and abroad displayed their latest products and sought business opportunities.

The showcasing of the latest intelligent door locks and mechanical equipment were two highlights of the expo.

"People are becoming more concerned about home security and comfort when seeking improvement on their living standards," said Hao Jiping, president of the China Construction Metal Structure Association, adding that the advanced technologies have made it possible for the transformation and upgrading of the traditional door industry.

In Yongkang, technologies such as artificial intelligence, facial recognition and cloud computing have been applied in door manufacturing, which indicates that embracing technological developments is an inevitable trend in China's door industry, according to Jin Zheng, Party secretary of Yongkang.

Dubbed as "China's Capital of Doors", Yongkang is an important door industry base in China. Currently, the city has over 280 professional door manufacturers, with an annual output of 25 million door products.

Serving as the barometer for what is going on across the door industry, China (Yongkang) International Door Industry Expo has been held for eight consecutive years and has become one of China's most influential, dynamic, distinctive and substantial brand exhibitions.
