An art exhibition featuring Chinese seals, paintings and calligraphy is taking place at the China Cultural Center in Paris, from June 18 to 22, offering visitors a chance to witness the art of Chinese traditional seal engraving.

Co-organized by the China Culture Center in Paris and Xiling Seal Art Society, a time-honored arts organization based in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, the exhibition is a highlight of a series of cultural activities for the China-France Cultural Year 2018.

The new exhibition features a total of 56 works of engraved seals and calligraphic artworks on display, showcasing the history of seal engraving, as well as Chinese culture and civilization.

The event is expected to further boost cultural communication between China and France and lay a solid foundation for more extensive exchanges in the future, according to an official from the China Culture Center in Paris.

Also at the exhibition, the center held a public lecture on the Chinese seal-engraving art. Laurent Long, a French member of the Xiling Seal Art Society, was invited to present his research findings about the art of Chinese seal engraving to his compatriots.
