Nearly 420 international students attended the first Job Fair for International Students in Zhejiang at Zhejiang Normal University in Jinhua on June 23.
The fair, aimed at attracting more foreign students to stay and work in Zhejiang after graduation, was jointly hosted by Zhejiang Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs and the university, with 45 companies offering jobs for students from a variety of countries including Russia, Indonesia, Nepal and Ghana.
Sophie is a graduate from the College of International Education of Zhejiang Normal University. She hoped to work in a company that has business contacts with her motherland Cameroon.
"It's not easy for us to find jobs in China," said Sophie, adding she didn't have too much confidence in being able to find a job here, despite having a good command of four different languages.
At the job fair, Sophie sent her curriculum vitae to an intellectual property company based in Yiwu, the world's largest market for small commodities and highly appreciated the face-to-face talks with the company at the fair.
It has emerged that one student with a doctoral degree and three with master's degrees successfully got job offers at the fair, and 56 students with master's degrees reached preliminary agreements with employers.
