A total of 154 child performers from different training bases in China got professional recognition for their opera performances in a young person's opera art competition in Shengzhou, Zhejiang province on July 16.

Co-organized by the China Theater Association and Shengzhou government, young opera performers under the age of 14 battled it out to present their skills in singing, speaking, acting and acrobatics. Their performances in the four-day competition covered 35 opera types, including Peking Opera, Yueju Opera, and Huangmei Opera.

The panel of reviewers gave the title of "Golden Flower" to 154 participants after evaluation.

Shengzhou is the birthplace of China's Yueju Opera, one of the most popular operas in the country. As well as the opera art competition, the city's government organized a tour to some opera featured tourist attractions for these child performers to promote its opera culture.
