A town themed on Yueju Opera in Shengzhou, Zhejiang province, will be unveiled in less than six months, officials announced in Hangzhou Aug 2.

The town, with a planned area of 3.68 square kilometers, is designed to be an international platform where the opera culture and landscapes in Shengzhou are presented and artists from around the globe can have exchanges on opera development. Shijiaao village, where China's female Yueju Opera originated, is the center of the town.

There will be four theaters in the town, for performances of evening galas, classic plays, Yueju Opera and endangered operas. Visitors will be able to watch cultural performances in the town most of the time. Besides, the construction of art studios, film and television bases and art schools is also underway.
