Alibaba to host Hangzhou digital technology conference

The eyes of the some of the world's biggest digital technology companies will be set upon Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, to explore the latest industry trends at the Computing Conference 2018, which will be held in the Cloud Town from Sep 19 to 22.
With the theme of "Empower Digital China", the four-day conference will see two main forums, 170 summits and sub-forums focusing on a variety of hot topics, including cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence and the internet of things.
Around 200 companies from the world of data technology are expected to attend the conference and present their latest research and innovation findings, including DAMO Academy, an innovative research institute launched by China's e-commerce giant Alibaba Group.
"We hope that this year's conference will be a platform that allows us to demonstrate how the combination of the city and technology will affect economic development, urban management and people's livelihoods", said Hu Xiaoming, president of AliCloud, the cloud computing arm of Alibaba Group Holding Ltd.
Meanwhile, a music festival and a running activity in Yunqi will also be held during the conference.
Hosted by Alibaba Group, the computing conference is a major worldwide event in the field of cloud computing. It attracted over 40,000 attendees from all over the world last year.
