An exhibition for the overseas promotion of Guyanhuaxiang town in Liandu district of Lishui, Zhejiang province, opened in the China Culture Center in Paris, France on Sept 4.
Guyanhuaxiang is an idyllic town with Chinese-style buildings and unblemished natural landscapes and also a microcosm of Zhejiang's characteristic towns.
The exhibition in Paris features 60 artworks of paintings, photographs and videos which showcase the beautiful nature and colorful folk culture of the town.
At the opening ceremony, a cultural show of folk music and dances from Lishui was staged for French exhibition-goers, allowing visitors to experience the sights and sounds of the Zhejiang town for themselves.
Yan Zhenquan, director of the China Culture Center in Paris, said the exhibition is an attempt to highlight the combined development of culture and tourism.
Zhao Jiahui, director of the publicity department of Liandu district, expected that this cultural activity could help spread the Liandu culture to French people.
The exhibition will run until Sept 20.
