Two container trucks drove into the Czech Republic's newly constructed logistics park on Sept 4, marking the official opening of the Zhejiang-backed project.
Jinhua-based company Huajie commenced construction on the park at the end of June, completing it within just two months.
Located near Prague, the park has an area of 100,000 square meters and is in the same neighbourhood as e-commerce and logistics giants Amazon and 4PX World Express.
A variety of services relating to cross-border e-commerce will be provided from the park including customs clearance, storage and transfer. Zhejiang plans to develop the park into a European storage and logistics center for imports and exports.
Yin Xuequn, mayor of Jinhua, the Zhejiang city most heavily involved with the project, said the establishment of the logistics park is expected to serve the Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe cargo line and provide a platform for Sino-European trade.
Part of the China Railway Express, the line begins Yiwu, a county-level city in Jinhua and the world's largest small commodities market, before cutting through Xinjiang and heading into Europe.
