Performers highlight Taizhou culture in German city

At the invitation of the government of Hanau, Germany, a troupe from Taizhou, Zhejiang province consisting of "Luantan" Opera and local folk music performers, participated in an annual cultural festival in the German city from Sept 4 to 9.
They presented a show of the most distinctive performances for German audience on Sept 6, including local opera plays and music played with Chinese traditional instruments. The show garnered countless cheers and applauses.
A photo exhibition displaying the landscapes and natural scenes of Taizhou was set up at the city hall of Hanau as well, attracting overseas Chinese in Germany and German residents to admire the beauty of the East China city.
During the stay in Hanau, Chinese performers also visited a local school where their performances were well welcomed by teachers and students.
Hanau is part of the Frankfurt Rhine-Main Metropolitan Region and an important cultural and industrial city in Germany.
Taizhou and Hanau became sister cities in April 2014 and ever since, the two sides have conducted a wide range of exchanges and cooperation with the strong support of both governments.
