Industrial communities in Cixi to support small and micro companies
With the robust development of the private economy, Cixi, a county-level city in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, has developed a way of building collective zones to support quality development of local small and micro enterprises.
The city announced plans to invest 10 billion yuan ($1.45 billion) to construct over 20 industrial communities with standardized facilities to accommodate small-scale companies.
There are now more than 54,000 industrial entities in Cixi, 98 percent of which are small and micro ones. Though they inject vitality to the city's economy, a series of problems such as environmental pollution and potential safety hazards concerns the government.
Since last year, Cixi has attached great importance to the building of industrial zones and environmental protection, which lay a solid foundation for the promotion of new communities.
The communities will be equipped with intelligent factories, facilities to deal with waste water and gas and storage space. Besides, there will be services concerning logistics, big data, cloud platforms, finance and technological support.
Construction of the first such community, to be stationed in Zhangqi town in Cixi, has begun and hundreds of the town's companies have agreed to move in. Shi Kejie, the owner of a hardware company, said moving into the community will help save one-third of the company's annual costs.
An official from the city's economic and information commission said in the next three years these industrial communities will cover the whole city.
