The Chinese Academy of Translation and Translation Studies of Zhejiang University (ZJU) was unveiled in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, Nov 10 with the aim of enhancing cultural communications with the outside world and further enlarging the global influence of Chinese culture.
The academy established an all-round partnership with Zhejiang University Press (ZJUP) at the unveiling ceremony to cooperate in publishing, academic research and cultural exchanges. To facilitate publication of the academy's research achievements, ZJUP launched a compiling office with a group of experts and elite editors.
To help Chinese culture go global, the two partners will focus on fine works of Chinese and foreign literature, translate them and promote the essence of Chinese culture in different languages. In addition to translations, the partnership also attaches great importance to academic research and expects to boost the integrated and coordinated development of foreign language disciplines in China.
The first batch of publications under the partnership will include translation studies, representative translations, critical biographies of foreign ideologists and artists, and reference books.
