Lishui Economic and Technological Development Zone
Located in the southeast part of Lishui, Zhejiang province, Lishui Economic and Technological Development Zone (LETD) was established in 1993 and upgraded to a national development zone by the State Council in 2014.
With a planned area of 11,537 hectares, LETD enjoys favorable geographical conditions. It has risen to become an important traffic hub in the southwestern part of Zhejiang province since the 12th Five-year Plan (2011-2015), and has access to the Jinhua-Lishui-Wenzhou railway, and the Jinhua-Lishui-Wenzhou and Longyou-Lishui expressways.
The newly built high-speed railway station in the city allows citizens to travel to Wenzhou in less than half an hour and to Shanghai in two and a half hours. A new airport is also set to begin construction in the LETD.
In 2017, the economic development of the zone stood out citywide with GDP of 6.42 billion yuan ($924 million) and a total industrial output value of 19.7 billion yuan.
The industrial output value of the facility manufacturing, biomedical health and synthetic leather industries grew by 20.9 percent,32.7 percent and 13.3 percent year-on-year. While the industrial value-added of high-tech industries achieved year-on-year growth of 15.3 percent.
LETD is making efforts to restructure its industrial system by launching a series of measures to encourage innovation and reconstruction of traditional industries. At present, it is home to 66 high-tech enterprises, 74 small and medium-sized technological companies, and 27 provincial-level high-tech research and development centers.
