Ice and snow sports carnival to kick off in Zhejiang province

An annual ice and snow sports carnival, scheduled to take place from January to March, will kick off in Fenghua, Zhejiang province on Jan 12.
The carnival, hosted by the Sport Bureau of Zhejiang Province and the All-Zhejiang Sports Federation, will take place in six locations, with a variety of different ice and snow-themed competitions and activities.
The Shanglianggang ski resort in Fenghua is one of the locations. Against the backdrop of snowy forests, participants will be able to experience multiple ice and snow-based sports and games.

With the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics looming, winter sports are being promoted nationwide and are attracting an increasing number of fans from the south of China. In Zhejiang, there are now 16 ski resorts, and snow and ice games which were once rarely seen in this part of the country are becoming more popular in the province.
