A team of 13 artists from East China's Zhejiang province attended the 2019 Art Capital exhibition in Paris, France from Feb 13 to 17.
Founded in 1884, Art Capital, one of the most influential art exhibitions in the world, is a grand gathering for artists, talents and creative minds to display their works and explore contemporary art, from paintings to photographs and sculptures.
This time, Zhejiang artists showcased their talent in traditional Chinese calligraphy and paintings to French people and further promoted Chinese art culture on the world stage.
Chen Lingguang, an artist from the Communication University of Zhejiang remarked that Chinese artists need to talk with their foreign peers and exchange ideas on arts with them.
Fang Ye from Haining city was the leader of the team. He said they hope to explore an effective way to make Chinese art culture go global through the participation in an international art event.
"The original motives for us to create distinctive arts are to be curious about the global civilization, to be sensitive to different cultures and arts, and to love people and the world," said Fang.
