Cultural festival shows Zhejiang's charm to Taiwan residents

The 13th Taiwan-Zhejiang Cultural Festival opened in Taipei, Taiwan, on Feb 22, with the aim of showing Taiwan residents the unique charm of a poetic Zhejiang.
The festival, combining culture and tourism, launched a series of events, including a promotion conference for the sustainable development of cross-Straits culture and tourism industry, stage plays based on stories of Zhejiang celebrities such as Yu Dafu, a famous writer, and a waterborne material art exhibition running until March 7.
A covered bridge in Taishun county, a symbol of cross-Straits cultural exchanges and friendship, was also unveiled to the public during the festival.
A lantern show was held from Feb 2 to 24, during which Zhejiang's folk performances were also staged.
The cultural festival that started in 2007 is a brand event of Zhejiang that is annually held in Taiwan. It aims to share Zhejiang's cultural and artistic traditions and development with Taiwan people, and promote mutual communications.
The festival includes an abundance of events every year such as art performances, art work exhibitions, intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, creative cultural industry exhibitions, and many others.
