Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province grabbed the attention of visitors with its distinct container-style booths at the 23rd Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART), which opened on March 18 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.

The FILMART, hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, is one of the world's biggest international exhibitions. This year's event has seen the participation of more than 880 exhibitors from 35 countries and regions.

It is the third consecutive year that Ningbo has attended the exhibition. Its container booths showcase the city's increasing status as a major international port, and its book-styled reception desk signifies the city's profound culture.

Nearly 20 film and TV producing companies from Ningbo are present, a much higher number than the previous two times, suggesting that local film and TV producers are attaching more importance to the FILMART.

"This is a big international platform and matters a lot to the development of our Xiangshan Movie & TV Town. It also enables us to make many new friends," said Chen Jianyu, director of the administrative committee of Ningbo Film and TV Cultural Industrial Park.

Xiangshan Movie & TV Town is an outdoor film studio in the city's Xiangshan county, and one of the leading local film and TV companies.

"The biggest benefit of the platform lies in the transparent copyright trading of movies," said Tao Tingting, general manager of the Ningbo Everbright Cultural Industrial Park, who inked a deal with an American film copyright trader at last year's FILMART and transacted more than 20 movie copyrights.

Xia Mo, general manager of the Ningbo Longtai Film Company, also thinks highly of the exhibition and hopes to sell the copyrights of his company's seven movies to foreign clients via this platform.

The exhibition will last until March 21.
