Longquan to showcase its beauty during China Tourism and Culture Week

Longquan city in East China's Zhejiang province, known for its ancient green porcelain art, will showcase celadon artworks in Madrid, Spain and Seoul, South Korea during the China Tourism and Culture Week from May 15 to June 30.

Longquan celadon is a renowned style of green-glazed porcelain made in Longquan and neighboring areas of Zhejiang province. It was listed among the UNESCO intangible cultural heritages in 2009 and has been widely applied to daily necessities such as bowls, salvers, cups, pots and bottles for thousands of years.

At a news conference in Beijing on May 5, Wu Songping, mayor of Longquan, announced that during the national tourism and culture event, the East China city will organize exhibitions and promotional activities for its tourist resources in Madrid and Seoul, and will cooperate with overseas institutes to promote Longquan's beauty on the world stage.

The 2019 China Tourism and Culture Week, sponsored by the Chinese Culture and Tourism Ministry's international exchanges and cooperation bureau, aims to boost the high-quality development of China's tourism industry through an assortment of activities abroad.

From May 15 to June 30, over 250 activities will be staged around the world to present the real China and its modern development.
