East China's Zhejiang province and Hungary are expected to strengthen ties with the arrival of a Zhejiang delegation in Budapest on May 26.

The delegation, led by the province's Party Chief Che Jun, met with Hungarian government officials during the visit in hopes of further promoting exchange and cooperation with the European country under the framework of China's Belt and Road Initiative.

Che said China-Hungary relations are better than they've ever been.

"Hungary is an active participant of the 17+1 cooperation mechanism between China and the Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC), and Zhejiang, especially the city of Ningbo, plays an important role in boosting China-CEEC cooperation," said Che, adding that Zhejiang is looking forward to deepening exchange with Hungary in economy, trade and culture.

Hungarian officials also expressed excitement about strengthening their relationship with Zhejiang, one of the most economically dynamic regions in China.

During the talks, Che sent out invitations to Hungarian enterprises to attend the China-CEEC Expo in Ningbo in June.
