Zhejiang tightens trade and economic ties with Africa

The first China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo opened in Changsha, capital of Middle China's Hunan province, on June 27. Zhejiang pavilion debuted at the expo.

Zhejiang pavilion is located on the second floor of the exhibition hall and covers some 100 square meters. Focusing on the linkage, industries, health and intelligence of Africa, the pavilion showcases the economic and trade exchanges between Zhejiang and Africa, Zhejiang enterprises' participation in international production capacity cooperation and Africa's health construction.

Moreover, the China (Zhejiang)-Africa Trade and Investment Conference was held in Changsha, Hunan province on June 27. In addition to representatives from the commerce departments of Zhejiang and its cities, enterprises and the organizer, ministerial officials and ambassadors to China from countries such as Ethiopia, Benin, Botswana, Rwanda and South Africa, as well as some African buyers, were invited to attend the conference.

Sheng Qiuping, director of Zhejiang's department of commerce, warmly welcomed the African representatives. Sheng said that the cooperation potential between Zhejiang and Africa is vast. Africa boasts rich nature and human resources and is in rise of industrialization and urbanization and Zhejiang is a developed coastal province with funds, technologies, equipment and talents which can facilitate Africa's development.
