Towards Florence Biennale 2019 China Design Selection opened in Ningbo, Zhejiang province on July 3 after one year's preparations and is scheduled to run until July 14.

A total of 193 exhibits presented by Chinese designers are currently on display at the Ningbo Museum of Art. The exhibits run the gamut of interior, industrial and costume designs, and are expected to be applied in every aspect of social life.

Ningbo released an action plan this March, stating that the city is going to create a world-class creative design scene by 2020 through the organization of design-related competitions, forums, exhibitions and conferences.

Yu Weinian, president of the Ningbo Federation of Literature and Art Circles, said the introduction of the design exhibition, aimed at boosting the transformation of the city's economic and cultural development, is a part of the action plan.
