Cloud Town successively introduced the Innovation Academy for Microsatellites of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), projects of the Beidou system led by Sun Jiadong, an academician at CAS and former chief designer of the Beidou system. The town intends to build a "satellite valley" industrial cluster, and become the third pole in the satellite industry in China after Beijing and Shanghai.

The Yunqi center of the National Engineering Laboratory for Video Technology of Peking University and many other internet of things teams formed a CrabIoT research and design industrial ecology, filling a gap in the chip industry in Zhejiang province.

The town has also built the Foxconn Yunqi system engineering center, which, with "Tao Fu Cheng Zhen" as a carrier, introduced more than 80 intellectual hardware R&D companies. The Global Innovation Center for Future Manufacturing also settled in the town on Nov 18, 2017, assisting the town in introducing and fostering emerging industries in intelligent manufacturing.
