Yangtze River Delta region seeks rural revitalization
A cooperation agreement to boost rural revitalization in the Yangtze River Delta region was signed by the departments of agriculture and rural affairs of 28 cities and districts in the region at a seminar in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, on Oct 24.
The region enjoys one of the most dynamic economies in China, with its GDP accounting for nearly one quarter of the nation's total.
The region has a permanent resident population of 220 million and covers an area of 359,000 square kilometers, most of which is rural, making rural revitalization a key part of the region's development.
According to the agreement, the parties will first work together to find a modern agriculture development mode to raise incomes among farmers and then begin to improve the rural environment, enrich rural culture and improve agricultural policies.
In addition, the agreement also includes a cooperation mechanism for talent, technology, investment, distribution and economic development.
