A trade and investment forum was held by the Zhejiang International Agri-Products Trade Center on Nov 7, during the 2nd China International Import Expo in Shanghai.

The forum attracted over 100 representatives from more than 100 agricultural product manufacturers throughout the world.

A total of seven projects worth 603 million yuan ($86.1 million) were signed at the forum, focusing on the import, processing and development of agricultural products and the construction of an industrial park for pets.

The Zhejiang International Agri-Products Trade Center, located in the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, focuses on the international trade of high-quality agricultural products, including meats, vegetables, fruits and grains.

According to local authorities, the annual foreign trade volume of the center is expected to reach 30 billion yuan by 2020.

The establishment of the center was approved by the Zhejiang provincial government in 2017.

Han Jun, deputy mayor of Zhoushan, attended the forum and delivered a speech.

Han said that the city will further improve services, business environment and commercial infrastructure in order to attract more projects and enterprises and drive the high-quality development of the local economy.
