The launch ceremony for a 5G plus fishery project was held on Nov 8 in Zhoushan National Pelagic Fishery Base in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province.
The project was jointly promoted by the fishery base, Oceanhealth Food Co, the Zhoushan branch of China Mobile Communication Group Co and a Zhoushan-based marine research center at Zhejiang University.
The project aims to implement 5G and intelligent technologies into Oceanhealth Food Co's production process in order to help the company become more efficient and minimize the risk of injury to workers.
Specifically, the project will assist the company in employing intelligent robots equipped with 5G-powered devices at its aquatic product processing factory, said a member of the company.
The four parties also signed a strategic cooperation agreement at the ceremony in order to further develop the application of 5G in the fishery industry.
