China's cross-border e-commerce exports to surpass $284b in 2020

The Institute of China International Electronic Commerce Center released the China Cross-Border E-Commerce (2018-2019) report at the fifth Global Cross Border E-Commerce Conference held in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, on Dec 4.
The report systematically analyzed the current development of China’s cross-border e-commerce and made predictions about future trends.
According to the report, China's cross-border e-commerce retail exports reached 1.85 trillion yuan ($262.45 billion) in 2019, up 30 percent year-on-year. The figure is predicted to surpass 2 trillion yuan ($283.73 billion) in 2020.
Among all the cross-border parcels in the world last year, 38 percent came from China.
China's cross-border e-commerce imports totaled 800 billion yuan in 2018. The report predicts the figure will come close to 1.5 trillion yuan in 2020.
Attendees commended the report as being of great guiding significance to China's cross-border e-commerce sector.
