Zhejiang deputies discuss promoting integration of Yangtze River Delta
Zhejiang deputies to the third session of the 12th Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the third session of the 13th Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress recently shared their ideas about how to enhance the province's role in promoting the integration of the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region.
"As a private entrepreneur, I think that Zhejiang should take advantage of its strong industrial foundation to boost the private economy," said Zheng Yuqin, one of the deputies.
Deputy Yang Fuming agreed on this point and suggested that Zhejiang should strengthen cooperation with Shanghai in boosting its private economy.
Jing Xiandong, a member of the CPPCC Zhejiang committee, pointed out that there is plenty of room for Zhejiang to make contributions to YRD integration in terms of the digital economy and technological innovation. Jin Xing, another member of the committee, suggested that Zhejiang should improve relevant policies to attract more skilled workers and learn from other provinces' advanced practices.
Deputy Wu Jiaping emphasized the importance of ecological protection and the integration of agriculture and tourism. Zhang Yingjie, a committee member, said that Lishui and Quzhou, as key parts of Zhejiang's project to build a garden province, should leverage their advantages in ecological environment and improve infrastructure.
