Zhejiang ranks 3rd in China in per capita consumption expenditure
Zhejiang ranked 3rd among 31 provinces and municipalities in China in terms of per capita consumption expenditure last year, following Shanghai and Beijing.
Statistics show that per capita consumption expenditure in Zhejiang province reached 32,026 yuan ($4,670) last year, up 8.7 percent year-on-year and 10,467 yuan higher than the national average.
Expenditures on education, culture, and entertainment grew the fastest, growing at a rate of 19.6 percent and reaching 3,624 yuan per capita.
Urban residents spent an average of 37,508 yuan, while rural residents spent an average of 21,352 yuan, up 8.4 percent and 8.3 percent year-on-year, respectively.
