Zhejiang to focus on 10 tasks to boost education

Zhejiang province will promote the modernization of education, implement the strategy of higher-education-driven development, and establish a high-quality lifelong education system and talent cultivation system to provide intellectual support for its development, according to a provincial education conference held in Hangzhou on Jan 18.
Specifically, the province will focus on 10 tasks in 2020 – renovating 150 rural kindergartens, establishing 10 "internet + education" experimental zones, building an urban-rural educational community that covers all of the province's rural primary and junior high schools, implementing the "Healthy School" project to improve students' health, building 100 provincial-level labor practice bases for primary and secondary schools, improving the cloud-based Zhijianghui educational resource platform, sending 200 retired teachers to areas lagging behind in terms of education, building 100 colleges for elderly people, offering vocational training to company employees, and paying for 500 principals and teachers as well as 1,000 college students to study abroad.
