Great people: Govt official helps company resume operations
Editor's note: Zhejiang province held its 32nd news conference on epidemic control on March 4, in which seven ordinary people were invited to share their experiences fighting the epidemic. Despite being ordinary everyday people, they have made extraordinary contributions to the province's fight against the disease.
Ji Jinxin is the chief statistician of the statistics bureau of Wuxing district in Huzhou, Zhejiang province. He was appointed to stay at a small local high-tech company during the COVID-19 outbreak to help it resume normal operations.
"I received the mission on Feb 10 and immediately contacted the general manager of the company to discuss details related to work resumption and epidemic control," said Ji, adding that the company resumed operations on Feb 16, with 98 percent of employees having returned for work and the company's production capacity recovering to 90 percent.
Due to the shortage of medical supplies, Ji contacted local authorities for help, and encouraged the company to hold remote video conferences for workers elsewhere.
Ji also supervised the employees every day to check that they were wearing face masks, took their temperatures, ensured they were separated from each other while having meals, and conveyed the latest policies to the company.
"Our duty is to help companies solve their problems. I hope all companies will resume normal operations as soon as possible," Ji said.
