Intl forest fair closes with fruitful results

The 13th International Forest Products Fair came to an end in Yiwu, Zhejiang province on Nov 4, attracting 1,236 exhibitors and 132,300 visitors from 64 countries and regions.

The fair set up 2,152 booths in Yiwu International Expo Center and exhibited over 100,000 products in 10 themed areas.

Statistics from the organizing committee showed that the trade volume during the fair was valued at 2.65 billion yuan ($401 million).

A namesake online fair was opened for the first time. The online exhibitions and livestream activities were watched for over 5.16 million times from Nov 1 to 4.

Hosted by the State Administration of Forestry and Grassland and the government of Zhejiang province, the event is one of the three major forestry fairs in China.

In order to promote innovation and cooperation, the fair has been held annually since 2008 to lead the trends in China's forest industry. It boasts the reputation of "Forestry Olympics" for its scale, influence, and trade volume.
