Zhejiang to roll out vaccination program
The Zhejiang provincial government on March 15 announced its latest counter-pandemic instructions at the 68th news conference for the province's COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control efforts.
As of the end of March 14, three confirmed cases are being treated in hospitals and 31 asymptomatic carriers are under medical observation in Zhejiang. All are imported cases from abroad.
To date, a total of 1,967 institutes throughout the province have been tasked with providing COVID-19 inoculations. A total of 1,396,200 individuals have been fully vaccinated with two shots. No deaths or serious side effects have been reported.
On March 5, Zhejiang authorities officially launched free inoculations for all residents above the age of 18 years who are willing to receive the vaccine. Previously, the vaccinations were limited to those who work in high-risk areas or have plans to work or study abroad.
The vaccines being used in the province are made by either Sinopharm or Sinovac.
