The "Humans and Gods" Mysterious Ancient Shu Civilization Exhibition will open in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province on Sept 17 and run till next Jan 4.

The exhibition will feature relics of the legendary Sanxingdui Ruins and the Jinsha Ruins in Southwest China's Sichuan province.

Located 40 kilometers north of Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan, the Sanxingdui Ruins site covers 12 square kilometers and was established between 2,800 and 4,800 years ago. According to archaeological discoveries, the site was home to a highly developed and prosperous city that served as the political, economic and cultural center of the Shu Kingdom.

Archaeologists have hailed the Jinsha Ruins as one of Sichuan's most important archaeological finds after the discovery of Sanxingdui. Dating back some 3,000 years, the ruin's treasures include gold and jade ware as well as ivory. The best-known relic is the sunbird gold foil, which the State Administration of Cultural Heritage has chosen as a symbol of China's cultural heritage.
