Though having engaged in the livestream e-commerce industry for no more than three years, Cindy Samudio, a Colombian who now lives in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, has become a minor celebrity in the circle.

She hosted over 200 cross-border e-commerce livestreams in 2021, with a maximum of two or three shows per day.

In addition to speaking Spanish and English, Samudio can also promote products and explain brand concepts in Chinese, a language she mastered when receiving her undergraduate education at the Zhejiang University of Science and Technology years ago.

"Though I wasn't confident at first as my first language was not English, my friend and the agency company helped me a lot. I think I've grasped many new opportunities brought about by livestream e-commerce in the pandemic era," Samudio said.

She has quite a hectic schedule, as she usually leaves home before 7 am and sometimes needs to work until the next morning. Even so, she reserves an hour a day for exercise to ensure she is in tip-top condition.

"I was influenced by the people around me after I arrived in Hangzhou and I've been working harder and harder," Samudio said.
