Promotional conference for Dulan county in Qinghai held in Jiaxing

The culture and tourism promotion conference for Dulan county in Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan autonomous prefecture, Qinghai province, was held on March 16 in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province.

Dulan county is located in central Qinghai province and the southeast corner of the Qaidam Basin, with a total area of 452,700 square kilometers and an average altitude of 3,100 meters.

The county is a multi-ethnic and multicultural place with five defining industries, namely wolfberry, quinoa, highland barley, yak, and Tibetan sheep.

It is home to more than 40 rare wild animals and is known as the region with the most concentrated biodiversity in high altitude regions in the world. It is also one of the top 10 counties in Qinghai province in mineral resources.

Liu Qifa, head of Dulan county, said that Dulan currently is home to 958,000 yaks and Tibetan sheep, its 200,000-mu (13,333-hectare) wolfberry plantation produces about 50,000 metric tons annually, and it is home to the area in China with the second most valuable solar energy industry that can develop new energy bases.

Entrepreneurs are encouraged to invest in the construction of large wind power integrated development bases, the processing and sales of characteristic agricultural products, tourism development, and the development of salt lake resources in Dulan county.

Dulan county and Jiaxing have had a pairing assistance relationship for many years. To thank Zhejiang for its assistance, various tourist attractions in Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan autonomous prefecture, Qinghai province will offer free admission to tourists of Zhejiang origin with valid certificates.
