The output value of Quzhou's pomelo and grapefruit industry had exceeded 4 billion yuan ($581 million) as of the end of 2022.

Yuzu juice, which is made from pomelo and grapefruit juice and produced by Changshan Hengshoutang Co, has enjoyed strong sales since hitting the market.

A total of 2.1 million boxes of Yuzu juice were sold in the first two months, four times the same period last year.

After four digital filling production lines are put into operation in October, the company's annual output value is expected to reach 6.3 billion yuan, and it is expected to achieve an output of 10 billion yuan within five years, said Song Wei, chairman of Changshan Hengshoutang Co.

Changshan county has been cultivating pomelo seedlings since 2015, and in 2017 the county started growing pomelo trees over a large area.

Over the past seven years, a 10,400-mu (693-hectare) pomelo plantation has been built in the county. The total output of fresh pomelo this year is expected to be about 3,000 metric tons.

So far, 850,000 pomelo seedlings have been raised this year, and the second phase of construction on a 10,000-mu grapefruit pomelo plantation is currently in full swing.
