A total of 18 measures were revealed by authorities in East China's Zhejiang province to promote the high-quality development of the cosmetics industry in Zhejiang.

The number of cosmetics production enterprises in Zhejiang has grown from 271 in 2016 to over 590 in 2023, and the cosmetics industry in Zhejiang is a national leader in terms of the number of production enterprises, product quantity and output value.

According to the measures, the policies further reduce enterprise inspection costs and shorten product launch time, while also providing a more inclusive and supportive development environment for market entities.

In addition, Zhejiang will aim to help enterprises develop China-Chic beauty cosmetics that incorporate elements of landscapes and cultural heritage as well as urban characteristics. The local government will give full play to its technical advantages to encourage the development of characteristic cosmetics and the use of raw materials such as gardenia, camellia seeds, pearls, silk, and promote common prosperity.
