Zhoushan ship refueling industry sees robust growth in 2023
In 2023, the bonded ship refueling volume in Zhoushan reached 7.04 million metric tons, a year-on-year increase of 16.95 percent. Zhoushan firmly secured its position as the top ship refueling port in the country.
Anchorages and cross-border areas have shown significant growth, with the supply volumes amounting to 2.27 million tons and 3.79 million tons, respectively, which were year-on-year increases of 26.25 percent and 16.39 percent.
The achievement owes a great deal to a series of proactive measures taken by authorities, including adding product categories, expanding anchorage areas, and attracting new enterprises to establish a complete ship refueling industrial chain.
In 2023, Zhoushan achieved several significant milestones, including the first LNG refueling outside the port, the first biofuel refueling for container ships in anchorage, and the successful landing of the largest domestic biofuel refueling transaction.
Zhoushan has become the first port in China with the ability to provide various clean power refueling services in its anchorage and is currently home to 19 oil supply companies.
