The China Textile City in Keqiao district, Shaoxing is seeing a steady flow of shoppers during the Spring Festival.
From Feb 10 to 17, the market has experienced a significant increase in daily foot traffic, up by 80 percent compared to before the festival, with an average of over 15,000 visitors per day.
"We've rolled out special Chinese New Year discounts, with discounts starting at 50 percent off on down jackets. There's been a noticeable uptick in customers buying men's wear during this time, sometimes keeping all four of our salespeople busy," said Zhu Shuilong, manager of the "Water Dragon Men's Wear" store located on the market's first floor.
With nearly three decades of experience in men's wear retail, Zhu expressed satisfaction with the lively festive atmosphere in the market this year, noting the abundance of celebratory elements that have enhanced the shopping experience for the public.
Zhu Lifang, manager of the "Xinjie Gifts" store, was also pleased with the establishment's sales performance during the Spring Festival period.
"Currently, we have over a hundred products in stock, with dragon figurines and auspicious symbols like Chinese knots and red lanterns being the top sellers. On average, we're processing over 40 transactions daily," Zhu added.
Zhu Lifang further explained that a significant portion of this year's market patrons came from Keqiao and its surrounding areas, forming the primary consumer base.
To meet the needs of numerous merchants, China Textile City has spared no effort in ensuring market cleanliness, organization, and safety during the peak sales period of the Spring Festival.
